Another Delightful Romance from the Queen of Romantic Comedy
Katie Fisher is ecstatic. Pro basketball star Brady James has proposed, and she can't wait to start planning their life together. She's confident she'll make it down the aisle this time--but it still may be easier said than done. A high-society Houston bride has Katie and the Cosmopolitan Bridal team scrambling to get the perfect dress done in time for her spectacular wedding. Meanwhile, Katie finds herself bombarded with everyone's competing visions regarding her own special day--and she's beginning to worry that her own ideas will get lost in the crossfire. Will she ever manage to settle all of the details for her perfect day? Or will bridal shop chaos and overzealous friends and family make a mess of everything? Fan favorite Janice Thompson gives readers what they've been clamoring for: another funny, romantic romp with a Texas twang.

Interview #3 with Janice Thompson,
Author of Every Bride Has Her Day

What was the hardest part of writing this book?
This is the third (and final) book in the Brides with Style series. I always have such a hard time saying goodbye to my characters! Katie and Brady will live on in my imagination and I feel sure they will turn up again in future books (in cameo appearances).

What are some day jobs that you have held?
When I’m not writing I can be found in the kitchen, baking. For years I ran a bakery business out of my home. I made specialty cakes and cookies. I still bake for close friends and for my eight grandchildren. I also direct at a local Christian theater. I’m often in the middle of a show.

Do you have any strange writing habits you’d like to share with your readers?
Oh boy. You would have to ask. People might be surprised to learn that I don’t write in linear fashion. I write popcorn/random scenes as they come to me. Then I plug those scenes into an outline that I’ve created in advance (based on a 12-step plotter I use). Those random scenes are much more fun when they come spontaneously. When I reach a certainly point where I have a zillion popcorn/random scenes, I start the process of gluing them together.

What book do you wish you could have written?
Little Women.

What literary character is most like you?
Jo, from Little Women. I love, love, love that she dared to cross over into a man’s world and become a writer. Her ink-stained fingers compel me to do the same.

What do you want your tombstone to say?
Every time I’m out to dinner with my daughters and sons-in-law, I always end the evening with these words: “I have to go home and write a book.” Consequently, my kids have told me that my tombstone is going to read: “She had to go home to write a book.”  We’ll see if they carry through with that. Hahaha.

What’s something fun or funny that most people don’t know about you?
My dad’s idea of a family vacation was to take our family to Las Vegas. As I kid, I swam in a pool at the Sand’s hotel with movie stars, played slot machines before I was old enough to do so legally, and even traveled on a “gambling plane” (complete with casino on the upper deck). I never went camping or visited the Grand Canyon, but I could tell you anything you wanted to know about Vegas.

Janice Thompson is an expert at pulling the humor from the situations we get ourselves into and offers an inside look at the wedding business, drawing on her own experiences as a wedding planner. She is the author of the hugely popular Weddings by Bella series, the Backstage Pass series, and the Weddings by Design series, as well as Every Bride Needs a Groom and Every Girl Gets Confused. She lives in Texas.
