Children's Picture Book / Educational / Basics

✪✪✪✪✪

BLURB: ABC is packed with quirky and charming creatures who want to help your children learn the entire alphabet. It's perfect for preschoolers and parents to share and has a lively rhythm when read aloud. Every letter of the alphabet is paired with a quirky creature and a short description containing one or two words that begin with the letter. A is for Ashley who's always asleep, B is for Ben and his brave little brother, and C is for Cami the charming young carrot. Meet them all today!

HALL WAYS REVIEW: This is such a visually appealing book!  It is simple, brightly colored, and is illustrated with unique critters (some familiar, some fantastical) that will amuse readers.  Sometimes the color schemes on the pages are complementary and other times they sharply contrast, but the use of color really makes the pages pop.

Each page shows the letter of the alphabet in both lower and upper case, and the text generally has multiple examples of the different sounds each letter makes.  ("G is for George, the ghost made of goop.") The text is fairly parallel in structure throughout the book and there's a somewhat lyrical sound to it.  The critters all have the same eyes but in a variety of colors. And the critters are adorable! Kids will wish for plush versions.

I absolutely can't wait for this book to be published in print (later this year), as that's how I think children will most enjoy it. It would really make a good board book, too. There's just something about being able to hold the book and flip the pages and hug your favorite critter. That said, the eBook is certainly engaging and entertaining, and I highly recommend it as an alternative to the basic ABC books found on bookshelves.

Thank you to the author for providing me a download in exchange for my honest opinion -- the only kind I give.
