TBR Journal

So many books, so little time.
To Be Read (TBR)
(aka: piles of pleasure)
I have no self-discipline when it comes to getting new books, despite the fact that I already have more books than I can possibly read, even if I had nothing at all to do but read, for oh, say the next year. *sigh* So, if you see something you feel should be pushed to the top of the TBR pile, let me know! Something in my "to be read," that you truly dread? Let me know that, too -- though that sick part of me might push it to the top to assess the dreadfulness.

6/13/15  I have been collecting books like a madwoman -- there are just too many good ones coming out and the lazy days of summer are already having me busier than the rest of the year. Yikes. Thanks to SYNC audio, my audio library is full of awesome (and free) listens (not shown below). Now I need to do some traveling!
4/14/15 It's that time of year again! Texas Library Association Annual Conference Week! Yeeeeehaw! I was careful about my selections today! Of the 13 books I got today, I am most excited about Bone Gap! Wish I could share my book picture, but alas, the iPad and Blogger do not mix well. Siiigh.

3/18/15 I am so proud of myself! Over six weeks, and there is barely any additional height to the TBR pile!

3/3/15SUPER excited that my perk for donating to the We Need Diverse Books campaign arrived! My print copy is signed by the author! I so enjoyed listening to her at the YALSA Symposium in Austin last year and can't wait to read this book.
2/3/15 Stop the insanity, as good ol' Susan Powter would say. (yes, I know, showing my age, here.) There are just too many intriguing books coming out for me to resist. On a good note, looking back since I started posting TBR updates, I've read SEVEN of them! (not counting my shelf pics). Here are my latest snags. .

1/15/15 Giveaways, freebie downloads, Amazon credits. . . these all helped add to my TBR pile that just doesn't seem to have gotten any smaller despite my having read 113 books in 2014!  So here are some of my latest additions that I hope to move from TBR to reviewed!
12/9/14: Lucky me, I won a giveaway to get the UBER creepy looking Bones and All, and then couldn't resist a few interesting finds on NetGalley. I'm getting dangerously close to my 110 books goal for the year, but I'm not sure any of these will get read this year.  I'm thinking that after I wrap up my review commitments, I am choosing some books for PURE PLEASURE! Go me!
11/17/14:  I spent a long weekend at the YALSA's Young Adult Literature Symposium in Austin. Wow! Book bliss, author awesomeness, and much food for thought.  Got all these lovelies, all signed by the authors, and a few more!
11/11/2014:  I made it three weeks. . . well, not really since I inquired about these books and ended up with copies.  Funny how that happens. Got Love, Lucy in print and The Witch as an eBook. Cool!
10/21/14: Lookie at what came in the mail from Hachette Book Group! Ask, and ye shall receive! This really has potential to be a killer good book. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's a killer AND that I get it read this year.

Another version of cover.
The ARC I received.

10/14/14: I am really proud of the restraint I have been exercising these last few weeks. I have not added ONE new book! Well, okay, actually I did add one since I had a free download coupon that was going to expire, so that doesn't count. It was forced on me. What book? Oh, that would be:
9/22/14: Oh how I loathe when life gets in the way of acquiring and reading good books. Well, at least it gets in the way of reading them. Ha! As my bulging bookshelves will attest, I have not had issues with acquiring. Here are the books I picked-up in the last two months, when I swore that I would not get one more book without first getting a few read. Oopsie. I.Lack.Discipline.

7/31/14:  SOOOO excited! I loved, loved Jonathan Stroud's first Lockwood book (and the man himself -- he's adorable), so really psyched to have this eARC.  May be bumping some others. . . really, not getting any more books for a LONG time. MUST. READ.

7/28/14:  One came in the mail (I'm a WINNER), two came from NetGalley. Had to do it. Just had to. When will I become disciplined???

7/24/14: Attended my first virtual conference, School Library Journal's Summer Teen! Even at a virtual conference, the publishers had booths and free books! Here are my newest eBook additions: (NICE!)

7/22/14: Too good to pass up. . .

7/18/14:  oops. May have just downloaded a few books to my iPad. . .

7/17/14: It was a FREE audiobook. And I just visited the Sherlock Holmes Museum in London last month, so I sorta had to download this anyhow for a tie-in.

7/11/14: Spent the week in Austin, which means a mandatory trip and purchase(s) (go Indie!) from Book People.

6/15/14: Well, I HAD to have the Exclusive Collector's Edition with the bonus material, right? I mean, since I read the first two of the Grisha Trilogy, I needed to get the third one. . . on the day it came out. Right??? RIGHT?! I am actually itching to get to this, but it's a reward for getting other stuff done, which has not gotten done yet.

6/10/14: As is tradition, when I travel I try to support the local book store, so got this one from Back of Beyond Books (go Indie!) in Moab, UT.  Probably will save it for the cold season!
4/7-11/14: I attended the Texas Library Association Annual Conference in San Antonio. Picked up a few interesting books.
