Three Brothers. One Oath.
No Compromises.
The MEN of LEGEND
One bullet is all it takes to shatter Houston Legend’s world. He swore he’d never love again, but with the future of the Lone Star Ranch on the line, he finds himself at the altar promising to love and cherish a woman he’s never met—a woman whose vulnerable beauty touches his heart.
All Lara Boone wants is a name for her baby. The best she can hope for is kindness and acceptance. She never expected to fall in love with her own husband—or any man—after the heartache she’s endured.
In an effort to save the Lone Star Ranch, Houston decides to drive two thousand longhorns up the Great Western Trail to Dodge City. The day before he leaves, the cook quits. When he can’t find another on such short notice, Lara offers to go along and fill in. Over his best judgement, he lets her. Three days out, he notices riders trailing them. Things go from bad to worse and it’s an all-out fight to try to save themselves and the herd.
And when Lara’s troubled past catches up with them, Houston will move heaven and earth to protect his bride…and discover depths to a marriage of convenience neither realized could be theirs to claim.

Inspiration for My Stories
Guest Post by Linda Broday
Every story has to be inspired by something or you wouldn’t
write it. For me, it was those old TV and movie westerns that I watched as a
girl. I simply couldn’t get enough of them. My parents were very poor and
didn’t own a television until those westerns had long gone out of favor, but
I’d traipse over to my aunt and uncle’s house and watch to my heart’s content
with them.
I saw how honorable men could be -- sometimes even ones who’d
made a wrong turn. Those cowboys taught me about the Code of the West and how
important it was to live by that.
Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Laramie, and dozens of others gave me a
clear view of what I wanted to look for in a man when I grew up. They had to be
tough but fair, their word was their bond, and they’d ride through fire for justice.
Later on, I discovered John Wayne and my hero worship expanded. When he
swaggered onto the screen, my heart pounded. He was pure magic. I knew he’d set
the bad guys straight. But he didn’t always live at the end. I cried in The
Cowboys and I hated Bruce Dern afterward. Still do to this day.
I pattern the heroes in my stories after the men in these
westerns. Houston Legend in my newest book, THE HEART OF A TEXAS COWBOY, is one
of my toughest. When he strode onto the page, all six feet four inches of him,
I knew he could handle whatever came.
This man is just larger-than-life. He fights hard and loves
even harder. And when the chips are down and you don’t see a way out, Houston
is the one you want at your side. He never gives up, no matter how difficult
the fight or the odds against winning.
I hope you’ll ride along as Houston dispenses the Legend kind
of justice—harsh and swift. This story is chock-full of suspense, danger, and
plenty of passion.
Book #3 in November 2017—To

conclusion. It’s available for pre-order now.
Historical Western Romance Author
I'm a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of 8 full length historical western romance novels, with another set to release 2017, and 10 short stories. Watching TV westerns during my youth fed my love of cowboys and the old West and they still do. I reside in the Texas Panhandle on land the American Indian and Comancheros once roamed. At times, I can feel their ghosts lurking around every corner. Texas’ rich history is one reason I set all my stories here. I love research and looking for little known tidbits to add realism to my stories. When I’m not writing, I collect old coins and I confess to being a rock hound. I’ve been accused (and quite unfairly I might add) of making a nuisance of myself at museums, libraries, and historical places. I’m also a movie buff and love sitting in a dark theater, watching the magic on the screen. As long as I’m confessing…chocolate is my best friend. It just soothes my soul.

Thank you for having me, Kristine. I'm excited to share my newest release with readers of historical romance fiction. Houston Legend and Lara Boone are such large characters with a love that slowly grows from their marriage of convenience. And then there's the sweetest baby this side of heaven. Even though Gracie never speaks a word, she almost took over the story. I hope readers will enjoy their journey as they ride along on this cattle drive.
